About Us

Sustainability at MEGO

We recognize ourselves as an agent of change—responsible and competitive, aware of the impacts generated by the consumption of resources in our daily activities.
We have both the right and the responsibility to leave behind a world that is equal to or better than the one we live in received, to share our vision, develop, and promote the rational use of the planet’s resources.

Our commitment goes beyond our facilities and extends to our families, society, and surroundings.

We seek to create a responsible competitive advantage in the sector to which we belong and to be a positive reference within the supply chain of which we are a part.

Commitment to Sustainability Through Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance  (ESG) Criteria

Environment

The care and protection of the environment is fundamental—it is our home and our source of resources for living. Therefore, environmental issues require different levels of attention: on one hand, we must have as our ultimate goal the care and preservation of the environment, and on the other, compliance with existing regulations both domestically nationally and internationally.

At MEGO, we first observe regulatory compliance—both at the national level and in our role within the supply chain of our sector.
To this end, we have established the following priorities: rational efficient resource consumption and thereduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as well as the design and implementation of mitigation actions, and the prevention and reduction of waste generation.
Our environmental performance is measured through climate change guidelines, both from international directives and through compliance with relevant national laws.
We disclose our performance through the CDP platform, the CANELATAM initiative, and the United Nations Global Compact.

Society

MEGO has always sought the social well-being of its employees. However, in pursuit of strengthening and improving our socio-environmental performance, we have updated our social policies in line with global initiatives on labor practices, human rights, and community engagement.

Based on our materiality analysis, MEGO promotes fair, equitable, and free work, grounded in the concept of Zero Harassment and Gender-Based Violence. Likewise, we emphasize well-being, health, and workplace safety, as well as employee capacity building and training.

Regarding our Human Rights Policy, we uphold Non-Discrimination and stand firmly against child and forced labor.
In relation to our Community Policy, we have designed a program for community coexistence, local hiring, and promotion of local commerce.

Corporate Governance

From our Board of Directors, MEGO oversees the design, implementation, and compliance of policies, programs, strategies, and performance standards.
These elements are reflected internally within MEGO and shared with our business partners and the community.

Our policies aim to ensure social sustainability for our employees and the industrial sector to which we belong, as well as for the environment.

Therefore, we have made a commitment to carbon neutrality through the CANELATAM initiative, we disclose our environmental performance via the CDP platform, and we demonstrate our corporate and social commitment through the United Nations Global Compact.
